MassDOT Invests $210M into restoring Railroad Service 

 

In 2015 months of summer work had begun to repair four vital rail bridges in the Fall River & New Bedford area, part of the 120-month South Coast Rail project that Is restoring 52 mi. (83.6 km) of commuter rail service between Boston and the Massachusetts South Coast.     (more)

Runway 5 Ext. Ready?

 

No, earth-moving equipment won’t be rolling down Green Airport Runway 5 just yet, but Cardi Construction has already started work on an extension of the runway by more than 1,500 feet to a length of 8,700 feet.  The project, which requires the relocation of Main Avenue, is to be completed by Dec. 6, 2017. A formal groundbreaking ceremony for the extension was held on Monday, July 11 on Industrial Drive.  The relocated section of Main Avenue was opened to the public in the summer.
